Like many of you, I grew up playing the Breath of Fire games and like you I've been waiting for an official BOF game/remake/remaster. It has always been my dream to make games, and no other game has inspired me creatively like Breath of Fire has. This project is both one of obsession and passion that I have devoted almost 3 years of my life crafting in between family, work, and school. While I always wanted to be an indie developer, I always come back to work on this free project as it causes me to burn with passion that no other game has done.

Currently version 4.1b is completed and free to play; however, it does suffer from significant bug and balancing issues. However, I am currently working on Version 5.0. This update is massive with major content updates, bug fixes, reworks, story tweaks, and system overhauls across the board. Its main focus is converting the entire game to 2.5D.

Thank you for taking the time to look at this game and hopefully try it. All the feedback I have been receiving has been helping me craft a better game that I hope everyone will enjoy.

Let Capcom know BOF is not a dead series, and we long for an official release!  

Version 5.0 (2.5D Version)

I plan on releasing a small 2 to 4 hour long Demo in a few months to get feedback on all the changes that I am making. The goal of that demo is to get feedback on what works and what I need to change. All of the systems will be finished at that point, so I should be able to update things across the board before focusing squarely on the 2.5D conversion.

Version 4.1b (2D Version)

This version is buggy, and I have compiled a list of bugs, tweaks, and upgrades from everyone who has given me feedback. I am currently working on fixing everything for 5.0

This game is completed and ready for you to play. I do apologize for all the bugs and issues that it might have as I am continuously working on it to make the best version I can. I hope you can enjoy it for what it is and give me feedback on improving!

Important Note:

I must apologize for not asking for express permission for many of the resources I’ve used because the secrecy of this fan project was essential. I have listed all credit for any non-BOF resources that I’ve used in the game folder. My initial intent was to use only BOF 1-6 resources, but there were many gaps that needed to be filled or updated so I had to expand what I used. Additionally, there were some really good fan creations for Breath of Fire that fit into making the game look, feel and sound better.
