Like many of you I grew up playing the Breath of Fire games, and like many of you I have been dreaming of an official Breath of Fire remake/remaster or even a new game. This project was born out of obsession and passion for a game series that has always contributed to my happiness and creativity. I have devoted almost 3 years of my life developing this project in between family and work. While I always wanted to be a game developer, this project always pulls me back in as it causes my heart to burn with excitement and creativity.

Version 5.0 (2.5D Version)

Currently I am working on Patch 5, which is a complete overhaul to the game. 

The game will be in 2.5D and have many updated systems and overhauled content in comparison the buggy version of 4.1b. The overwhelming support, feedback, and constructive criticism (along with youtube videos) have been key in inspiring me to make the game even better.

The plan is to release a demo in a few months that will have all the core systems completely ready for testing. The feedback from the demo will allow me to fix the systems and focus solely on content and the completion of the game. I greatly appreciate your patience as I am working daily to make the best possible game I can.

 Regarding Version 4.1b (2D Version)

This version is buggy, and I have compiled a list of bugs, tweaks, and upgrades from everyone who has given me feedback. I am currently working on fixing everything for patch 5.

This game can be completed; however, it will not be an optimal experience. All the bug reports, feedback, and criticisms have been accounted for in the upcoming Patch 5. The 2.5D conversion made it so the micro-patches for the bugs not time efficient.

Lastly...

I must apologize for not asking for express permission on many of the non-Breath of Fire resources I’ve used because the secrecy of this fan project was essential. I have listed all credit for any non-BOF resources that I’ve used in the game folder. My initial intent was to use only BOF 1-6 resources, but there were many gaps that needed to be filled or updated so I had to expand what I used. Additionally, there were some really good fan creations for Breath of Fire that fit into making the game look, feel and sound better. Finally, I did not want to taint anything with A.I art regarding cut-scenes, graphics, music, etc.
